The formats Raggli reads, and what it does with them

Your answers are only as good as your documents, so Raggli's first job is to read what you already have without asking you to reformat it. PDF, Word, plain text, HTML and Markdown are uploaded as they are, and a page already online is added by its link.

Upload your files as they are

Drag your PDFs, Word files, plain text, HTML pages or Markdown notes into the dashboard. Nothing to convert or clean up before uploading.

Or paste the link to a page

A page already online does not need to be saved out first: paste its link and Raggli reads it like any other document. One link means one page, nothing more: Raggli does not follow the links it finds and does not index any other page of your site. A page you have already added is refreshed from its row; it is never added twice.

Scanned PDFs are supported

A PDF that is nothing but an image, a scanned contract, a photographed manual, goes through automatic text recognition. The recognized text then joins the same library as every other document.

What Raggli does with your documents

Everything you add is read, then kept ready. When a visitor asks something, Raggli finds what answers them in your content and builds its reply from that. When the answer isn't there, it says so instead of improvising.

How the text is counted

Only the text counts, at 3,000 characters per quota page, and the same way for every format: files, web pages and the answers you write yourself. Layout, images and the number of sheets in the PDF play no part in the calculation.

Frequently asked questions

Do my scanned PDFs work?

Yes. PDFs with no text layer go through automatic text recognition at upload time, with nothing for you to do.

Do I have to convert my files before uploading them?

No. PDF, Word, plain text, HTML and Markdown are uploaded as they are: Raggli takes care of the rest.

How is a document counted against my quota?

By its text, at 3,000 characters per page — the same rule for a file you upload, a web page you add and an answer you write yourself. A 12,000-character document uses 4 pages, and deleting it frees those pages immediately.
