Terms of sale

Last updated: 25 August 2026

These terms of sale govern subscription to the Raggli service, published by 404 AFK, SAS. They are accepted at account creation through a dedicated checkbox; every acceptance is timestamped and tied to the version then in force.

What the service is

Raggli is an online subscription service that adds a conversational agent to a website, answering from the content provided by the customer (uploaded documents, added web pages, pinned answers). It is installed by adding one script tag to the customer's site.

The service is provided as it stands, as described on this site on the day of subscription.

Contractual documents

The contract consists of these terms of sale, the terms of use and the data processing agreement (DPA), which form an integral part of it and are accepted together, through the same checkbox, at account creation.

In case of conflict, the documents prevail in this order: terms of sale, then terms of use, then DPA. A specific agreement signed between the parties prevails over all of them — including, for a public-sector buyer, its own procurement documents where 404 AFK has expressly accepted them.

Professional customers only

The service is offered exclusively to professionals, non-profits and public bodies, acting for the purposes of their activity. The customer declares as much when subscribing.

The provisions of the French Consumer Code on the right of withdrawal and on consumer mediation therefore do not apply. The free plan allows the service to be tried without commitment or payment.

Plans, quotas and units

Four plans are offered: Free (€0), Starter (€19), Pro (€49) and Business (€99) per month. Each sets a number of messages per month, a number of document pages and a number of allowed sites.

One message means one question asked by a visitor and the answer given to it. An exchange whose answer was not delivered is not counted. The counter resets at each billing period.

One page means 3,000 characters of extracted text, counted the same way for every accepted format. Deleting a document immediately frees the pages it used.

Exceeding the message quota stops new messages from being accepted until the monthly reset or a plan change; an answer already being generated is never cut off.

Price, payment and invoicing

Subscription payment is handled by Stripe, acting as Merchant of Record: Stripe collects the payment, handles the tax applicable in the customer's country, and it is Stripe — not 404 AFK — that issues the subscription invoice, downloadable from the customer account.

Prices shown on this site include all taxes: the tax is inside the displayed amount, at a rate that depends on the customer's billing country, and the invoice issued by Stripe breaks out the exact share. The total paid is therefore the same whatever that country; a customer registered for VAT in another EU member state falls under the reverse charge, in which case that share is nil. The subscription is monthly and renews automatically until cancelled.

Plan changes and cancellation

The customer may change plan or cancel at any time from their account, with no notice period and no fee. A downgrade only takes effect once current usage is verified to fit within the new plan's limits.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; the service stays available until then. No pro-rata refund is issued for a period already started.

Switching provider and reversibility

Under Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 on data (the Data Act), applicable since 12 September 2025, the customer may at any time stop using Raggli, migrate their data to another provider or to their own systems, and obtain the deletion of whatever remains at 404 AFK.

No notice period is required of the customer — cancellation happens from their account, immediately — and it can in any event never exceed two months.

From the switching request onwards, a 30-day transition period runs, during which the service and the export features remain fully available. It is extended on the customer's simple written request where the migration warrants it.

Switching, exporting and deleting incur no fee, neither today nor after 12 January 2027, the date from which the regulation prohibits any switching charge.

The categories of data concerned are as follows:

  • exportable from the customer account, in a structured, machine-readable format: conversations and all of their messages, as NDJSON;
  • available without an export: the uploaded documents, whose original files the customer already holds since they uploaded them, and which remain readable in their account; along with the widget settings and the list of allowed domains, displayed in their account;
  • not exportable: the vector representations and search indexes computed at ingestion. These are derived data, specific to Raggli's engine and of no use outside it; any provider rebuilds them from the original documents;
  • kept despite closure, because the law requires it: accounting records and the record of acceptance of the contractual documents, under the conditions set out in the DPA.

Changes to the terms

Any substantial change to the contractual documents is notified to the customer by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and recalled in their account. A customer who refuses it may cancel free of charge before that date; otherwise, continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new version.

Purely editorial corrections — which change nobody's rights or obligations — only update the date at the top of the document, with no new version and no notification.

Every published version is dated and archived, so the customer can always establish the exact content of the version they accepted.

Liability

Raggli builds its answers solely from the content supplied by the customer. 404 AFK does not warrant the accuracy of generated answers and cannot be held liable for the use the customer or their visitors make of them.

404 AFK's liability is in any event limited to the amount paid by the customer for the last twelve months of subscription, or to €500, whichever is higher. That floor keeps the limitation meaningful for a customer whose subscription is free or recent.

Excluded from this limitation are personal injury, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and breaches that the law prohibits from being limited.

General provisions

The following provisions complete the contract:

  • force majeure: neither party is liable for a failure caused by an event of force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code; if the impediment lasts more than 60 days, either party may terminate without compensation;
  • assignment: the customer may not assign the contract without 404 AFK's prior written consent. 404 AFK may assign it to a universal successor or as part of a business transfer, subject to informing the customer, who may then cancel free of charge;
  • survival: the provisions on intellectual property, confidentiality, liability, data protection and governing law survive the end of the contract, for as long as their purpose requires;
  • severability: if a provision is held void or unenforceable, it is deemed unwritten and the others remain in force;
  • no waiver: a party's failure to invoke a breach does not waive its right to invoke it later.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties shall seek an amicable settlement before any legal action.

Failing that, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction — subject to the mandatory jurisdiction rules applicable to public-law entities.
